January 7, 2010 - Brrrrrrrrrr!

Cold is the word for today. It is about 30 degrees or less today and we got a little snow which is usually a call for empty grocery stores and school closings. I spotted the fountain on my way home last night and couldn't resist the urge to go back today in the daylight and catch this unique ice sculpture. I had fun with today's photos. The other two pics are just "perspective" pictures. One is driving down the road and the other of our van in our driveway. I am enjoying my 361 project.

On a side note. For those who like HDR photography, roll your mouse over the picture of the fountain below for a "high dynamic range" example of the fountain. High dynamic range pulls from the high and low tones of the picture to bring out more detail than you can see with the human eye, or with a camera lens. It is really a neat effect. Always open to comments!

  2. I have a copy of Photomatix Pro. It is a very cool HDR program. You just set your camera to bracket mode and then snap 3 or 5 or every how many shots you want at different exposure intervals and the software merges them together to make the final jpeg. There is a pseudo HDR software out there called Topaz Adjust that produces similar results.
